Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup low-sugar BBQ sauce

Instructions:

  1. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to ensure maximum crispiness.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil, then sprinkle in the cornstarch, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss until every wing has a matte, powdery coating.
  3. Arrange the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece for airflow.
  4. Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure the skin is golden and crisp.
  5. While the wings cook, measure out the low-sugar BBQ sauce in a small bowl for easy brushing.
  6. Remove the wings from the air fryer and brush them generously with the prepared BBQ sauce.
  7. Return the wings to the air fryer for an additional 3–5 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and tacky, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
