Ingredients:

  • 2 slices (56g) whole grain bread
  • 1 tbsp (14g) unsalted butter
  • 1 slice (21g) mozzarella cheese

Instructions:

  1. Spread the softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Place one slice, butter-side down, in a cold non-stick skillet.
  3. Layer the cheese slice on top of the bread, then cover with the second slice, butter-side up.
  4. Turn the heat to medium-low. Once the butter sizzles, place a lid on the pan and cook for 3 minutes until the bottom is deep golden brown.
  5. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook uncovered for another 2-3 minutes until both sides are mahogany-colored and the cheese is bubbling.
  6. Remove from heat and let it rest for 1 minute before cutting into finger strips for safe toddler handling.
