Ingredients:
- 2 cups pancake mix
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 quart vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 30 standard Oreo cookies
Instructions:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the pancake mix, milk, egg, and 2 tsp vegetable oil until lumps are mostly gone, ensuring the batter is thick enough to coat a spoon.
- Heat 1 quart of vegetable oil in a deep pot until a thermometer reads exactly 375°F (190°C).
- Dip an Oreo into the batter, rotating for full coverage, and gently drop it into the hot oil.
- Fry for 2–3 minutes, turning once, until the crust is mahogany-colored and crisp.
- Remove the Oreos with a spider strainer and place them on a wire rack for one minute to drain.
- Transfer the warm Oreos to a plate and generously dust with powdered sugar.
