Ingredients:
- 115g unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 200g granulated sugar
- 1 large egg (50g), room temperature
- 5ml pure vanilla extract
- 30g unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
- 65g all-purpose flour
- 1.5g baking soda
- 1.5g salt
- 130g semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, whisking vigorously for 2-3 minutes until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Using a spatula, gently fold the ingredients together until just combined.
- Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes. Remove from the oven when the edges are set but the centers still look slightly underbaked and soft.
