Ingredients:
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 drops green food coloring
- 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the whole milk, sugar, and salt. Whisk vigorously for 2-3 minutes until the mixture looks smooth and sugar granules are dissolved.
- Stir in the heavy cream, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract. Add food coloring if desired and stir until the color is uniform.
- Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions (usually 15-25 minutes) until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- During the last 2 minutes of churning, pour in the finely chopped chocolate, or fold it in manually using a rubber spatula after churning.
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight freezer container and press parchment paper onto the surface to prevent ice crystals before freezing for at least 4 hours.
